Duties

Reporting to the Supervisor, performs work ranging from moderate to considerable complexity applying practices in areas of nutrition, financial management, and child nutrition program management; coordinates monitoring programs with LEAs, ROEs, and other sponsoring organizations for the purpose of determining fiscal and programmatic compliance with applicable federal and state rules and regulations, agency guidelines and the enhancement of the quality of the programs. (This position will work primarily in Central Illinois. Residency in the one of the following counties is preferred - Sangamon, Tazewell, Mason, Cass, Menard, Logan, Morgan, Christian, Macoupin, Montgomery).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts monitoring reviews of school districts and other administrative entities to determine fiscal and programmatic compliance with program rules, regulations and generally accepted business procedures.
  • Coordinates and monitors schedules and timelines related to the completion of cyclical monitoring activities.
  • Assists in facilitating the interdisciplinary team process by reviewing the content and quality of monitoring reviews and project assignments produced.
  • Provides technical assistance to Agency staff, local educational agencies and program administrators.
  • Serves as primary contact for school districts and program administrators on fiscal, nutrition, and programmatic issues related to state and federal child nutrition programs.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and administration of monitoring review, fiscal and technical assistance procedures pertaining to state and federal child nutrition programs.
  • Implements monitoring review, nutrition and fiscal management plans, practices and procedures and recommends the development of broad statewide nutrition program policies and procedures.
  • Makes recommendations for department functional systems and activities.
  • Collects and analyzes data and compiles reports for review, executive approval and implementation.
  • Applies technical expertise in areas of monitoring review, nutrition and fiscal management of child nutrition programs to research, develop and implement project assignments.
  • Assists in the development of departmental information systems and the gathering of department planning data.
  • Functions as a team member and/or team leader for diverse Agency, center and department project teams.
  • Coordinates fiscal, staffing and material resources to complete assigned projects.
  • Coordinates efforts with interdisciplinary team member for the completion of assigned projects for departmental activities.
  • Monitors projects and activities of team members.
  • Assists so that projects are on schedule and completed with assigned timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master''s degree in Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics), Food Service Management, Business Administration or related field, or, a Bachelor''s degree in one of the fields identified plus relevant professional experience equivalent to the Master''s degree. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Multiple years of professional experience in nutrition, auditing, business administration or governmental grant programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition, food service management, auditing, grant management administration, and/or business administration management practices and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of computers, database and spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities and work independently or with teams.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated math skills.
  • Extensive field-based travel.

Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $64,322 - $81,284

Full Salary Range: $64,322 - $109,467

Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
