We are looking for:Nursing Veterinary Assistant - Overnights

Proposed Schedule: Thursday-Saturday 8p-8:30a

This role has a hiring range of $17.00-28.00/hr based on experience.

Never a dull moment in the Nursing department!Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed.This department is perfect for someone who canidentifypatient distress and react accordingly, enjoys phlebotomy, placing IV catheters,assistingwith recovery and client follow up and education.

What you’ll do: 

  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discusscasesand gatheradditionalinformation as necessary

  • Partner with patient care teamregardingtreatment plans, clientcommunicationand nursing care concerns

  • Provide client education including, but not limitedto:home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions)and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients

  • Assist DVM with patient assessment,treatmentand procedures

  • Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients

  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are: 

  • Prior veterinary experience,previousnursing or critical care experience desired

  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)

  • Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
