  • Under the general direction of The Senior Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services, the Nursing Supervisor serves as the onsite administrator for the hospital for a defined shift. The Nursing Supervisor understands and demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare environment, communication and relationship management, business skills and principals, professionalism, and leadership. The Nursing Supervisor works closely with emergency, inpatient, and operational leadership to act as an administrative liaison to internal hospital departments and external community resources. Through the assessment of clinical indicators and use of critical thinking, the Nursing Supervisor collaborates with RN and physician/LIP teams to effectively allocate clinical resources, coordinate patient placement, and manage hospital operations. The Nursing Supervisor ensures that all clinical staff function within established policies and practice guidelines in accordance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations and standards. The Nursing Supervisor initiates and contributes to staff development, professional practice, quality, performance improvement, and patient experience.

Per Diem (Nights)

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical supervisory experience.

  • Proficiency in communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Proficiency in critical thinking skills

  • Experience demonstrating professional competence, leadership characteristics and supervisory skills

  • Ability to function and multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Telemetry experience

  • Computer skills including EHR, Outlook and Microsoft Office

  • Meets all core RN and Nursing Supervisor competencies

  • Visibly demonstrates commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and prevention of errors

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • 2 years managerial / leadership experience preferred
  • Cerner experience

Educational Requirements:

  • BSN
  • Successful completion of orientation including electronic documentation competencies

License/Certification:

  • Current Massachusetts RN licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess sound dexterity and visual acuity. Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment or in emergency situations. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach without restriction. Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics. Must be able to push heavy equipment, stretchers, and wheelchairs. May be exposed to all patient care elements within the hospital setting. Must meet annual safety training requirements. Risks of exposure: BFEs, electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards, ionizing radiation. Works any assigned shift within a 24-hour day. Works within hospital policies and procedures to minimize/prevent risk of exposure.

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
