Job Summary
Ellison 9 Cardiac ICU is a patient and family centered 16 bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are: hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation, ventricular assist devices, CVVH, hypothermia after cardiac arrest, recovery from coronary procedures, including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement, recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure. A multi-disciplinary team approach is focused on the psychosocial and emotional support of the patients and their families. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Nursing required and Master's Degree Nursing required

Licenses and Credentials
MA Registered Nurse State License required
Clinical Nurse Specialist State License preferred
Experience
Demonstrated expertise in caring for critically ill cardiac surgery and medical cardiac ICU patients, with experience leading evidence-based practice, quality improvement, staff education, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a complex academic critical care environment
Clinical nursing experience 3-5 years required and Clinical education experience 2-3 years preferred and Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of clinical nursing care practices and principles.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based care plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
- Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and education to nursing staff.
- Ability to stay updated on the latest advancements in nursing skills and patient care through continuous learning and professional development.
