- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities:
The nurse manager will promote the mission and values of the organization and serve as an active advocate for providing quality patient care, excellent customer service, and efficient healthcare. As a member of the management team, the nurse manager will be involved in system planning, budgeting, manpower planning, and program development to deliver efficient, effective, and quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administration
- Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical assessments and institute safe and efficacious care within the structure of a collaborative health team
- Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal, state, or regulatory bodies
- Considerable knowledge of effective workforce utilization
- Knowledge of general financial management
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of clinical nursing experience in cardiac care and/or critical care
- Certification in a clinical specialty
- Current ACLS
