Description

Job Summary:
  • Manage and lead a Labor & Delivery unit during the day shift.
  • Eligible external candidates may receive a hiring bonus and relocation support.
  • Responsible for clinical and operational activities in line with the hospital's mission, vision, and values.
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with L&D and Women & Children leadership teams.
  • Share responsibility for quality, staffing, finance, and patient/caregiver experience.
  • Report directly to the Senior L&D Manager.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager and Clinical Supervisor to oversee department operations.
Key Priorities:
  • Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives (e.g., TEAM Birth, Doula, and Cultural Navigator programs).
  • Focus on quality metrics such as NTSV, working with RN teams for improvement.
  • Partner with CNS, Perinatal Educator, and staff to implement evidence-based practices.
  • Interview, hire, and mentor staff RNs, travelers, and residency/fellowship candidates.
Must-Haves:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school, or commitment to obtain within 2 years.
  • Active Washington RN License (upon hire).
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (upon hire).
  • Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience.
  • Certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring.
  • At least 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
  • Leadership experience in nursing.
  • Strong understanding of OR processes and L&D protocols.
  • Active, unrestricted nursing license (no hits or restrictions).
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of first-line management experience.
  • Experience in other nursing areas such as ICU.
  • 10+ years of nursing experience.
