**Director-level | Acute Care Hospital | Tennessee | $12,000 Sign-On Bonus**

The Opportunity
A 196-bed acute care community hospital in the region is adding a Nursing Director of Surgical Services to its leadership team. This is a Director-level position with direct accountability to the CNO — carrying real organizational weight and genuine scope across the OR and Cardiovascular Services lines.
If you are a surgical services leader who wants a seat at the table, a defined lane to influence, and a sign-on bonus to make the move worthwhile, this one is worth looking at.
---
The Role
The Nursing Director of Surgical Services provides operational and clinical leadership across the OR and Cardiovascular Services departments. Reporting to the CNO, this role carries 24/7 accountability for the assigned service lines and is central to nursing quality, staff competency, resource management, and patient care standards across those units.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and support to the CNO across nursing and designated patient care functions
- Assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice at the multi-unit level
- Maintaining oversight and accountability for the OR and Cardiovascular Services departments
- Ensuring high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate clinical staff competency
- Supporting resource management and operational performance aligned with executive priorities
---

What You Bring
- Active and current RN license in the state of residence or practice
- BSN or Associate degree in nursing with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (BSN or MSN preferred)
- At least 2 years of progressive management experience at the manager or director level in a hospital environment
- Demonstrated leadership ability and hospital operational competency
- BLS certification required upon hire; ACLS required within 3 months of hire
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to serve as a role model for the nursing discipline
---

What We Offer
- **$12,000 sign-on bonus**
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
- Competitive compensation, negotiable based on experience
- Full benefits package
- Interview travel reimbursed
- Direct reporting relationship to the CNO with meaningful executive visibility
---
Why the Region
The greater Memphis–East Tennessee corridor offers the kind of balance that appeals to healthcare leaders who want proximity to a real city without the cost or congestion that comes with it. The area delivers affordable living, a strong sense of community, and enough cultural and recreational access — music, outdoor recreation, diverse dining — that life outside the hospital feels like an actual life. For leaders with families, the schools and neighborhoods in the suburban ring have a reputation that tends to land well.

About the Organization
This is a 196-bed acute care community hospital operating as a comprehensive medical center. Its service lines span Emergency Services, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Services, Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Critical Care, and Women's Services. The organization is structured with an active executive team and a CNO who is engaged in nursing leadership development — this is not an environment where a Director gets hired and then left alone to figure things out.
