The Opportunity

An acute care community hospital in Southern California's Coachella Valley is seeking a Nursing Director to lead its Surgical Services department. This is a full-scope director role: staff recruitment and development, the budget, regulatory compliance, service to patients and physicians, and Performance Improvement all run through you. Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience, with relocation assistance possible for the right candidate.

The Role

As Nursing Director of Surgical Services, you lead the department's people, budget and standards. Your scope includes:

• Staff recruitment and retention, performance evaluations and competencies
• Orientation, annual education requirements and employee safety
• Developing and implementing services that meet patient and physician expectations
• Controlling and monitoring expenditures to meet budget goals
• Compliance with regulatory and licensing agencies
• An active role in the hospital's Performance Improvement program

You own the people, the budget and the department's results.

What You Bring

Required:

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least five years of progressive management experience in the OR (screening requirement)
• Mastery of the nursing skills and knowledge of an OR position
• Bachelor's degree
• Current CPR certification
• Basic computer skills

• Base salary range: $149,000 to $205,000 per year, based on experience
