    Nursing Department Coordinator

    Merced Crisis Residential Unit (CRU)

    Starting Compensation:

    78100 - 92000 USD Per Year

    Working Location:

    Merced, CA

    Working Hours/Shift:

    4-5 day work week. Must include a Wednesday 12-hour shift (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and a weekend commitment; remaining days are flexible based on operational needs and candidate availability

    Work Schedule:

    Core Requirement: 4 to 5-day work week. Must include a 12-hour Wednesday shift (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and at least one weekend day per week (or alternating full weekend shifts).

    Remaining Days: Flexible / determined by applicant availability and program operational needs.

    What you bring to SBHG:

    Education

    • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.

    • Associate degree, preferred.

    Experience

    • Four (4) years experience working as a nurse in a behavioral health field, including One (1) year of medication administration experience required.

    • One (1) year experience in a nursing leadership role preferred.

    License or Certification

    • Valid California LVN or LPT license.

    • Current CPR certification.

    How you will make a difference:

    The Nursing Department Coordinator is responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and supervising nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care. Supports the development and implementation of nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures, and provides direct nursing services as needed. Assists with recruitment and staffing recommendations, oversees nursing schedules and on-call coverage, and ensures accurate and timely medical record documentation. Contributes to medication management controls and infection prevention efforts, including identifying risks and recommending corrective actions. Provides crisis intervention support, facilitates departmental meetings, participates in leadership and program meetings, and serves in the leadership on-call rotation.

    • Population Served: Serving adults, ages 18-59

    • Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility

    • Clinical Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services

    • Length of Stay: 30-60 day stay

    • Skills & Services: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.
