    Description


    We are seeking an experienced Nursing Consultant to provide critical onsite clinical and regulatory support across skilled nursing facilities. This is a temporary assignment designed for highly skilled professionals capable of delivering immediate, independent oversight in complex healthcare environments.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Conduct comprehensive clinical and regulatory audits to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
    • Identify clinical and operational deficiencies through direct facility observations and assessments.
    • Develop and implement effective corrective action plans, including plans of correction, based on survey findings and clinical audits.
    • Support and facilitate facility survey preparation, including responses to surveyor findings.
    • Collaborate closely with facility leadership—Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and clinical teams—to address issues proactively and sustain continuous improvement.
    • Encourage compliance through hands-on support, clinical evaluations, and staff education.
    • Evaluate nursing systems, documentation, and practices to enhance quality of care and regulatory adherence.
    • Assist in managing challenging facilities under regulatory scrutiny, including those with survey deficiencies or immediate jeopardy issues.
    • Work independently to assess operational practices, engage with leadership, and hold teams accountable for corrective actions.
    • Follow through to ensure all deficiencies are adequately addressed and resolved.

    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Active, unrestricted RN license.
    • Extensive leadership experience in skilled nursing, post-acute, or long-term care settings.
    • Proven track record as a Nursing Consultant, Regional Nurse, Clinical Consultant, or similar senior clinical oversight role spanning multiple facilities.
    • Hands-on experience supporting regulatory surveys and preparing facilities to succeed.
    • Deep knowledge of California skilled nursing regulatory requirements and CDPH survey processes.
    • Experience working with facilities under regulatory scrutiny, including those with survey deficiencies, accreditation challenges, or in immediate jeopardy situations.
    • Strong ability to independently evaluate clinical operations, identify issues, and develop actionable solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative leadership.

    Assignment Details:
    • Onsite presence is required five days per week at both facility locations.
    • The role involves direct observation, clinical audits, and collaboration with facility leadership.
    • Work involves evaluating clinical practices and documenting regulatory compliance.
    • Flexibility to quickly begin and work across multiple facilities is essential.
    • Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

    Candidate Profile:
    • Ability to work independently without extensive training.
    • Willingness to accept a temporary role and begin promptly.
    • Availability to work at both specified locations.
    • Ability to fulfill onsite responsibilities, including facility walkthroughs and direct support.
