    Description

    Provide centralized oversight and leadership for nursing staff across all OB/GYN practices, with a primary focus on standardizing nursing workflows, policies, and processes to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care at every location. Supervise the daily activities of RN's. Assists physicians and nursing staff in the care of patients. Performs various patient care activities with patient flow, taking vitals, giving injections, assisting with patient personal hygiene and other needs as required. May administer prescribed medications with appropriate licensure.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provides direct supervision of the clinical staff including staff assignments.
    • Develops policies and procedures related to the lab.
    • Develops policies and procedures related to clinical duties.
    • Evaluates job performance for the clinical staff.
    • Supervises and provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted clinical standards while utilizing the department process.
    • Makes frequent patient inquiries/rounds to assure the quality and appropriateness of patient care. Identifies areas needed for improvement in patient care delivery and plans for effective change. Serves as a resource to staff, colleagues and other departments.
    • Prepares patient care assignments considering the skill mix and competence of the employees and the patient care needs.
    • Assures a safe patient care environment. Coordinates the maintenance repairs and environmental health needs for the department. Assures safety/emergency checks are done according to department standards.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors degree from four-year college or university Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN preferred) or enrollment in Bachelor of Science in nursing program is required
    • Current licensure in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse is required
    • CPR certification is required
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a clinical environment
    • Previous supervisory experience highly desired

    The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
