    Position Summary

    A nursing clinical adjunct instructor for the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and/or Practical Nursing (PN) program(s) is responsible for providing supervision, education, and mentoring to nursing students in the clinical setting. This role includes bridging classroom theory with real-world patient care in acute care and/or long-term care clinical environments. The clinical adjunct instructor facilitates hands-on learning experiences, ensures safety, and provides evaluative feedback on students' clinical performance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise clinical sessions in accordance with Gadsden State Nursing's clinical policies and procedures.
    • Supervise students in the clinical setting adhering to the established clinical objectives, activities, and agency policies.
    • Maintain cooperative relationships with clinical agency personnel and participate in clinical agency activities as assigned.
    • Plan for and complete assigned student clinical rotations and submit clinical-related paperwork to the appropriate clinical personnel as directed.
    • Provide assessment of nursing students throughout each clinical rotation utilizing the approved Nursing Student Evaluation Form. Provide regular feedback to students especially when performance improvement is necessary.
    • Evaluate student progress with required clinical paperwork. Provide feedback for continued improvement and progression.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an approved U.S. Department of Education accredited institution is required. Area of clinical supervision to be defined as determined by program needs and applicant's clinical expertise.
    • Current, unencumbered Alabama licensure as a registered nurse, single-state or multi-state required.
    • Minimum of two years post-licensure experience as a registered nurse is required.
    • BCLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred
    • Teaching experience in the clinical setting preferred.
    • Philosophy is compatible with the community college image.
