    The Nurse Tech is a sincerely caring and compassionate professional providing direct patient care in partnership with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient management.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled and active in an accredited nursing program
    • Successful completion of the 1st and 2nd semesters of a nursing program
    • Documentation from the accredited nursing program verifying the above
    • Current BLS Certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Plans to potentially seek employment at SJRMC as an RN upon successful completion of nursing program

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides individualized assistance with the activities of daily living appropriate for the area of practice
    • Performs vital signs and reports abnormal findings as indicated
    • Communicates pertinent patient information to the appropriate members of the healthcare team
    • Understands and follows policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as outlined by SJRMC
    • Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter
    • Demonstrates teamwork
    • A Nurse Tech may perform additional tasks (excluding medication administration) under the direct supervision of a licensed RN
    • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:

                                                         Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship

    • Other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

    • Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance
    • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently
    • Must be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to (300) pounds using approved hospital transport devices
    • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirements
