About Neurodiagnostic Institute:

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis, delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness. Together, the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers.

Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $71,500.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day in the Life:

Program Administration Support

• Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients.
• Make care assignments and assist in developing treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff.
• Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems.
• Monitor the safety and security of individuals and staff by conducting routine rounds.
• Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records.
• Provide orientation and support to staff on the unit.

Program Management Support

• Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of individuals physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge.
• Administer medications and treatments according to state-operated health care facility policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for diagnosis or treatment plan changes.
• Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff.
• Educate individuals and family members regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals and objectives.
• Respond and intervene in emergency situations and with agitated individuals using verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Ensure proper safety and infection control standards, including compliance management, are met for the unit to protect staff and individuals.

• Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities for professional development.
• Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate employee performance to ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

• Ability to use MS Office applications and electronic patient records.
• Proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn programs used in maintaining electronic medical records.
• Ability to serve as a patient advocate.
• Ability to coordinate and evaluate program goals and therapeutic outcomes.
• Ability to monitor compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Good interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and use verbal de-escalation techniques with agitated individuals.
• Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret nursing and facility policies and procedures.

An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college, an active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license, current CPR certification, and maintained compliance with all required behavioral intervention training applicable to the assigned setting.

This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
