Nurse Supervisor - Clinical Services

Location: East Brunswick, NJ
Travel: Approximately 75% across multiple locations in East Brunswick, Hamilton, Oakhurst, and Old Bridge, NJ

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Supervisor to oversee daily nursing operations and provide clinical leadership across multiple healthcare locations. The Nurse Supervisor will supervise nursing and clinical support staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants, while ensuring high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and clinical quality.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and prior supervisory experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing and clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.

• Direct daily clinical operations, including staff orientation, training, scheduling, and assignments.

• Provide input regarding employee performance evaluations and staff development.

• Monitor patient satisfaction and identify opportunities for quality improvement.

• Educate clinical staff on documentation requirements and monitor compliance.

• Ensure adherence to healthcare policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state nursing regulations.

• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care.

• Develop and maintain procedures that promote a safe, clean, and efficient clinical environment.

• Assist with infection-control policies and protocols.

• Ensure proper medication administration and medication storage procedures.

• Monitor emergency equipment availability and preventive maintenance requirements.

• Oversee nursing supplies and inventory.

• Maintain required cleaning, safety, and emergency equipment logs.

• Participate in staff meetings, workflow discussions, and regular team huddles.

• Coordinate clinical staff schedules, including vacation coverage and schedule changes.

• Escalate clinical, staffing, operational, or patient-care concerns to nursing leadership.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing or registered nursing program.

• Current LPN or RN license in the state of New Jersey.

• 3-5+ years of LPN or RN clinical experience.

• At least 1 year of nursing supervisory/leadership experience required.

• Current BLS and CPR certification.

• Current health records and required healthcare immunizations.

• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% between assigned locations.

Preferred Experience

• Previous Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, or similar leadership experience.

• Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.

• Experience with quality assurance, infection control, documentation compliance, and regulatory standards.

• Strong knowledge of nursing practice principles and healthcare regulations.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Work is performed across office, examination, and clinical environments.

• Frequent standing and walking may be required.

• Ability to handle and lift patients as needed.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, medications, and other conditions common to clinical healthcare settings.

• Requires manual dexterity, coordination, and the ability to perform routine nursing duties.

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
