Responsibilities:
- Assess patient''s physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care.
- Provide care for patient''s pre, intra, and post procedures for all vascular procedures as well as the radiology and neurology population.
- Demonstrates competency in moderate sedation per policy, including administering the sedation, recovery process, reversal agents, and airway recovery skills.
- Develop and communicate patient plan of care reflecting patient issues and proposed interventions to achieve desired patient outcome.
- Collaborate with patient, family, and healthcare team in implementing plan for patient care and daily scheduling and management of cases.
- Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care as needed and appropriately refer for additional services where indicated.
- Demonstrates independence, sound clinical judgement, policy recognition and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with Anesthesia in recovering adults'' post-anesthesia administration.
- Asses the learning needs of the patient/family and provide education as indicated.
- Participates in Unit-Based Council, performance improvement, and risk-management activities.
- Acts as preceptor to new staff when requested.
- Responsible for being part of "restrictive call" per department''s needs as a part of a fair and balanced schedule.
Qualifications:
1) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
2) Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
3) Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
4) BCLS, ACLS, preferred PALS
5) 2-3 years'' critical care experience preferred. This includes ER and related procedure experience.
