Overview:

Location: Jacksonville, FL
FTE: Full-Time (.9 FTE)
️Shift: Days - 8:00AM - 4:30PM

 

Distinguishes the cancer services line by providing support for the patient experience, as well as improving access and overall customer satisfaction. Acts as a liaison between the physician, the patient, and other hospital staff. Assists physicians in the outpatient clinic and process requests by physicians and patients.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports an exceptional patient experience throughout the cancer care journey.
  • Helps improve patient access to cancer services and overall satisfaction.
  • Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
  • Assists physicians with outpatient clinic activities.
  • Processes and coordinates requests from physicians and patients.
  • Facilitates communication and helps ensure timely follow-up on patient needs.
  • Promotes coordinated, patient-centered care across the cancer services line.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Age of Patients Served

  • Adults (18–64 years)
  • Geriatric patients (65+ years)

Education

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transfer
  • Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and job description
  • Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered
  • BSN preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Professional nursing certification preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong nursing assessment skills
  • Strong patient and physician communication skills
  • Familiarity with patient care equipment
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission (JCAHO) and OSHA standards applicable to Radiation Oncology nursing

Experience

  • Less than one year of related experience required
  • 1–2 years of Oncology experience preferred
