The Registered Professional Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care by assessing patient needs, identifying actual and potential health concerns, implementing appropriate nursing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care.
- Involves patients, families, and significant others in assessment, planning, care, and evaluation whenever possible.
- Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
- Assigns and delegates patient care to qualified members of the healthcare team.
- Coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals and disciplines.
- Participates in unit-based activities that promote a positive and professional work environment.
- Provides compassionate, accountable nursing care focused on patient advocacy, collaboration, and optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- BSN preferred at time of hire
- Nurses hired without a BSN must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire
- Professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire
- Nurses hired without a professional nursing board certification must obtain certification after two (2) years of hire, or once eligible for certifications requiring more than two years of experience
Licensure & Certification
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
Motor Vehicle Requirement
- This position does not require operating a vehicle for assigned business purposes
