    Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Thoracic Surgery (Outpatient)

    Valhalla, NY base with system wide presence

    Primarily Schedule: 5 days/week

    Summary:

    We are looking for a motivated APP (Advanced Practice Provider), Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), to join our growing Thoracic Surgery ambulatory team at WMCHealth. This strictly outpatient focused role is ideal for an APP interested in the diverse care of Thoracic Surgery patients, and for a clinician who thrives in a collaborative and fast-evolving setting with true support and mentorship.

    Role Highlights:

    Provide comprehensive ambulatory care to patients with thoracic surgical conditions, including pulmonary, pleural, mediastinal, esophageal, chest wall, and other thoracic diseases.

    Manage patients across the continuum of surgical care, including initial consultation, preoperative evaluation and optimization, postoperative follow-up, surveillance, and long-term disease management

    Evaluate new and established patents and develop evidence-based plans of care in collaboration with thoracic surgeons and the multidisciplinary care team

    Perform applicable ambulatory procedures based on training, competency, and departmental needs.

    Assist in coordination of care with Pulmonary, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and other specialties to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment.

    What Were Looking For:

    Board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who possesses, or is eligible to obtain, an applicable NYS license.

    Ideal candidates will have prior thoracic medical or surgical experience, but motivated new graduates will be considered.

    Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    Willingness to grow with a dynamic program

    Candidates with active BLS and ACLS certification
