In the hospital, the APN can obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations, order and perform routine diagnostic procedures, as indicated; identify normal and abnormal findings on histories, physical examinations and commonly performed diagnostic studies; assess patients and develop and implement treatment plans for patients; monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in conjunction with a Supervising Physician only as consistent with THS' Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and any applicable THS policies. In the provision of these services, APNs may order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and prescribe pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies.
