Job Summary
Full time, 40 hours across 4-10-hr days
Join a large and supportive ambulatory oncology Advanced Practice Team in a role that specializes in the care of patients with a variety of hematological or solid malignancies being treated with novel therapies in the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies, Investigational Cancer Therapeutics Program. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, research personnel and administrative staff, to provide safe, quality care in compliance with clinical trial protocols across the care continuum.
The Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies NP/PA provides direct care to the clinical trial eligible oncology population in collaboration with the physician and disease center team.
The hematologic malignancies and solid tumor oncology APP provides comprehensive ambulatory care to one or more disease specific medical oncology patient populations depending on location of care within our academic or network practices. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider promotes a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. The APP is responsible for the assessment and management of medical oncology patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and development and implementation of appropriate plans of care across the trajectory of illness for patients with hematologic malignancies and/or solid tumor malignancies.
In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the medical oncology APP serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. The medical oncology APP will provide thorough, compassionate, culturally sensitive clinical care and should demonstrate operational flexibility and strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills in order to work effectively with other members of the team.
The NP/PA is responsible for:
Collaborates with staff and other health care professionals to meet staff and patient educational needs.
Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care.
Supports and conducts research efforts to advance knowledge and to promote research-based practice.
