Job Description

This Nurse Practitioner role supports a growing medical practice specializing in plastic surgery, with a focus on liposculpting and body contouring for adult patients. You will deliver high-quality adult care by evaluating patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, coordinating referrals, and managing comprehensive documentation in the electronic medical record. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the broader care team while also working autonomously to ensure patients receive timely, compassionate, and well-coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Document all patient visits accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate referrals to specialists, imaging centers, and other external providers to support comprehensive patient care.
• Follow up with patients on test results, treatment plans, and ongoing care needs, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to deliver integrated, high-quality adult care.
• Manage medical records and documentation, maintaining accuracy, organization, and compliance with clinical standards.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tests as needed to support clinical decision-making.
• Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments within the scope of practice and in alignment with established protocols.
• Provide adult care in pre- and post-operative settings, such as hospital-based surgical units or plastic surgery practices.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a positive, respectful, and supportive experience.
• Apply medical terminology accurately in all documentation, communication, and clinical activities.
• Utilize management skills to prioritize tasks, oversee aspects of patient flow, and contribute to efficient clinic operations.
• Work both autonomously and alongside the care team, exercising sound clinical judgment and knowing when to escalate or collaborate.
• Maintain a calm, patient, and professional demeanor in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Essential Skills

• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner (NYS NP) license.
• 12 years of experience working in a surgical setting, such as pre- or post-operative care in a hospital or plastic surgery practice.
• Demonstrated experience providing adult care only.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and accurate data entry.
• Strong customer service skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Solid understanding and use of medical terminology in clinical practice and documentation.
• Effective management skills to support workflow, prioritization, and coordination of care.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Calm, patient, and professional communication style, especially in high-volume or fast-paced situations.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to shared goals and collaborative problem-solving.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in plastic surgery, liposculpting, or body contouring environments is highly beneficial.
• Prior exposure to pre- and post-operative care in hospital or outpatient settings.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing medical records and follow-up tasks.
• Ability to present professionally and build trust and rapport with patients and colleagues.
• Comfort working in a dynamic environment where patient volumes and needs may fluctuate.
• Motivation to contribute to team-based performance goals and incentive programs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $160000.00/yr.

Standard benefits package include, medical, dental and health insurance. PTO 401K

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in New York,NY.
