    Description

    Job Type: Nurse Practitioner - Mount Vernon Developmental Center

    Location: Mount Vernon, OH

    Shift: Day; Flexible 1st shift, 8-16 hours a week (up to 24)

    Facility Location: Mt. Vernon, OH

    Estimated Travel Package:

    • Hourly Blended Rate: $110.50
    • Weekly Stipend: $1,162 ($413 Weekly Meal + $749 Weekly Lodging)
    • Gross Weekly Pay: $3,924 (*Overtime hours require recalculation of pay package)

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Patient Care:
    • Create and implement patient care plans.
    • Monitor progress and intervene in chronic illnesses.
    • Perform routine physical examinations and diagnose new conditions.
    • Evaluate and prescribe treatment for acute and chronically ill patients.
    • Complete discharge planning and follow-up care for patients with chronic medical issues.
    • Perform minor surgery as training and competency allow.
    • Evaluate the necessity for referral consultations.
    • Order and review results of laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing.
    • Inoculate or vaccinate patients against communicable diseases.
    • Medical Records Maintenance:
    • Document medical information according to agency guidelines, policies, and protocols.
    • Document assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up parameters.
    • Cooperate monthly with the institutional Chief Medical Officer for medical quality oversight.
    • Clinical Direction:
    • Provide clinical direction to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, phlebotomists, and other caregivers.
    • Participation in Committees and Meetings:
    • Attend professional institutional-specific meetings as requested.
    • Participate in continuous quality improvement measures.
    • Attend quarterly medical meetings.
    • Serve as a resource for patients and families utilizing clinical expertise.
    • Attend in-services and other continuing education offerings.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Valid license as a Registered Nurse.
    • Completion of Nurse Practitioner program and certified by Ohio Board of Nursing for advanced practice with a valid certificate of authority and certificate to prescribe in accordance with ORC 4723.
