Matrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

Looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner capable of managing a high-volume clinical setting while providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

  • Employment Status: Full-Time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $59.65 to $63.00/hr
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0730-1630 will work 40 hours per week.

Nurse Practitioner - Family Practice must have and meet the following:

  • Degree/Education: Successfully completed Master of Science in Nursing degree program with specialization as a family nurse practitioner accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
  • Certification:Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
  • Experience: Have actively practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner or in training for 24 months within the last 36 months and are able to demonstrate current clinical competency. Current clinical competency is verifiable by clinical activity logs submitted by the previous medical institutions
  • Licensure: Must possess and maintain an active, current, valid and unrestricted RN license as well being licensed to the Advanced Practice level IAW the US jurisdiction (fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands) requirements of their currently held RN license to practice independently within the defined scope of practice for their specialty.

Nurse Practitioner - Family Health Core Duties:

  • The scope of privileges for family nurse practitioners includes the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, disposition, and referral for patients of all ages with acute and chronic symptoms, illnesses, injuries, or conditions. FNPs provide education on health, well- being, management, and prevention of disease. FNPs assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions in accordance with medical staff policy.
  • Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Privileging Authority (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Works under general supervision of the Chief, (blank) who discusses policies and objectives. There is no direct supervision, and the individual exercises independent judgment in selection and performance of the full range of diagnostic evaluations for patients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
  • Participates in established peer (other medical specialist) review process monthly. Provides chart review for quality assurance purposes in the area of neurology if requested on an occasional basis.
  • Attend and participate in patient care reports, patient care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities only to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his/her assigned cases and/or performance of services as determined by the supervisor.
  • The duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
  • Treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in collaboration with a physician.
  • Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.
  • May become the primary care manager for a panel of patients. As a PCM, will be the primary person responsible for the management of the health and wellness of assigned patients.
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
