Job Opening: Nurse Practitioner
Location: Mission Hills, CA; must be able to travel to clinics within 35-miles from home clinic
Schedule: This position follows a rotating two-week Alternative Workweek Schedule with 12-hour shifts: 3 workdays one week and 4 workdays the next, with one scheduled weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) included each week.

Major Responsibilities
- Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
- Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
- Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician.
- Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
- Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
- Practices standard precautions and disease-specific precautions by proper utilization of handwashing and personal protective equipment.
- Practices strong nursing autonomy in patient care while coordinating care with an ED MD.
- Triages patients while obtaining vital signs, a thorough history, and a nursing assessment.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Delegates within scope-of-practice to other clinical staff.
- Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment and examination of patient.
- Maintains awareness of dignity, comfort and safety needs of patient.
- Always provides excellent patient care.
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies provider of patient's condition as well as any changes to the patient’s condition, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Initiates a thorough patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the provider and/or policy including patient and family instruction.
- Maintains, checks and utilizes a variety of laboratory and testing equipment.
- Provides follow-up for all patients to ensure good outcomes and help to implement further treatment as necessary.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Prioritizes patients’ safety and patient satisfaction.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Participates in the monitoring of inventory control and supplies.
- Provides direct patient care interventions per his/her scope of practice and as ordered by the provider.
- Is mindful of procedure and equipment costs and is a steward for the company.
Qualifications:- State medical license
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care, with at least one year of SOLO experience.
- Board eligibility or certification
- Experience in procedures including suturing and splinting, reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- Must be BLS, ACLS and PALS certified and competent. Must be comfortable running “codes”
- Outstanding bedside manner with children and adults

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competence with computer use and EMR.
- Proficient at intravenous access for blood draw and drug administration.
Compensation: $80.00-$82.00/hour with health and dental insurance, $2000 allowance every 2-years for CME reimbursement, DEA reimbursement, ACLS/PALS reimbursement, meal penalty payment for solo work and a productivity bonus.
