    Mobile Medical Care, Inc. (MobileMed) is a nonprofit community health center serving low-income adults in Montgomery County, Maryland. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), MobileMed provides high-quality primary care services at office locations and at mobile van sites, utilizing staff and volunteers. MobileMed is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager.

    This is an exciting and challenging position in one of the oldest and most respected safety net health clinics in Maryland. This position is for the individual who is interested in providing quality customer service to our patient population who come from over 100 countries.

    Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of services that contribute to the overall productivity and quality of care provided by MobileMed clinics, while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and policies. This position requires the ability to manage clinic flow, supervision of staff, and management of patients' chronic health care.

    Duties:

    • Manage daily clinic operations and clinic flow, approve same-day appointments and walk-ins, adjust assignments as needed to improve access and volume, make clinic appointments when necessary, and communicate with staff, volunteer providers, and patients.
    • Manage the team of Medical Assistants, Clinic Facilitators and Registrars, including staff and volunteers.
    • Oversee data entry, including lab results, into the electronic health record system.
    • Ensures Medical Assistants and Receptionist are current with their Telephone Encounters, Referrals, Documents and locking of non-provider notes.
    • Review provider notes, including orders, codes, and follow-up appointments, and lock volunteer provider notes after review (Within 48 hrs of encounter date).
    • Coordinate referrals, medications and provider orders with patients and communicate with volunteer providers regarding scheduling and documentation.
    • Maintain organized clinic information and records.
    • Ensure appropriate inventory and ordering of medical and office supplies and medications, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager's Assistant; communicate with centralized administrative staff or the Practice Manager regarding ordering and scheduling concerns.
    • Ensure safe handling and scheduled pick-up of biohazardous waste in assigned clinic(s), in collaboration with the Nurse Manager's Assistant, and maintain compliance with applicable OSHA standards.
    • Ensure proper sterile processing of surgical instruments, autoclave maintenance, and biological monitoring.
    • Ensure clinic staff perform timely quality-control checks on point-of-care testing equipment and supplies according to manufacturer's recommendations.
    • Ensure clinic facilities are clean, well maintained, and organized.
    • Ensure emergency equipment, medications, and supplies are present, functional, unexpired, and replaced as needed.
    • Ensure medical equipment preventive maintenance is current and notify the Assistant Clinical Director by email when needed.
    • Identify broken equipment and notify the Assistant Clinical Director by email.
    • Attend and participate in All-Staff Meetings and Nurse/Provider Meetings as scheduled and participate in team activities as directed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 3 to 5 years' experience as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland, BSN preferred.
    • Ability to interact with multicultural patient population, staff and providers.
    • Proven ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Management experience is strongly preferred.
    • Electronic health record experience required, experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred.
    • Current CPR certification for healthcare workers is required.
    • Fluency in English required; fluency in Spanish preferred.
    • Experience working for a not-for-profit healthcare organization a plus.
