POSITION OVERVIEW
As a
Nurse Manager, Operating Room (RN, BSN), your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Direct daily clinical operations across the General OR, Cardiac OR, Orthopedic OR, and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Lead and evaluate 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs.
- Set the clinical, operational, and fiscal direction for the perioperative service line.
- Manage operating and capital budgets and identify and correct budget variances.
- Drive performance improvements related to case turnover, utilization, and throughput.
- Partner with surgical and anesthesia leadership to improve OR operations and patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate
Nurse Manager, Operating Room who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Nurse Manager, Operating Room would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a CCNE-accredited program.
- Master's degree (MSN, MS, MA, MHA, or MBA) preferred.
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- National certification.
- 3 5 years of progressive OR nursing experience.
- Demonstrated progression in OR nursing supervision and leadership.
- Strong fiscal management and budget oversight experience.
