The Nurse Manager – Maternal Child Health is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned Maternal Child Health departments, including staffing, clinical care delivery, physician satisfaction, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and budget performance.
The Nurse Manager will ensure safe staffing practices, monitor department performance, support staff development, and lead or participate in initiatives focused on organizational outcomes and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of assigned Maternal Child Health departments.
• Manage staffing and ensure staffing levels comply with required ratios for safe patient care.
• Ensure effective delivery of high-quality clinical care.
• Manage department performance against approved budget and cost targets.
• Monitor employee satisfaction, turnover, attendance, and educational needs.
• Support physician satisfaction and maintain effective relationships with physicians.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate departmental priorities.
• Counsel and support employees regarding performance and workplace matters.
• Identify and address staffing, educational, and operational needs.
• Lead and/or participate in teams and committees focused on improving organizational outcomes and operational excellence.
• Support a comprehensive labor and delivery program and maternal-child healthcare services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
Experience

• Maternal Child Health Department experience within the last 2 years – Required.
• 2 years of prior nursing experience.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in Women's Services – Required.

License & Certifications

• Current California RN License.
• Current ACLS.
• Current PALS.
• NRP within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 90 days of hire or transfer.
