A 467-bed Level II Trauma Center in Aventura is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead its 53-bed Behavioral Health unit. This facility also holds certification as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center by The Joint Commission, accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and recognition as an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.
This leadership role is responsible for the full 24/7 operational oversight of the Behavioral Health unit, managing a team of approximately 108 full-time equivalents, including registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, and clinical nurse coordinators. Reporting to the Director, this position plays a key role in ensuring safe, structured, and high-quality behavioral health services across all shifts.
Core responsibilities include managing daily operations, overseeing staffing and scheduling, and guiding hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes. The Nurse Manager also drives quality improvement initiatives, monitors productivity and financial performance, and supports patient satisfaction goals through strong, hands-on leadership.
A major focus of the role includes maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards and all applicable hospital and corporate policies. This leader works closely with physicians, hospital executives, and multidisciplinary teams to support consistent, collaborative, and efficient unit operations.
Qualifications:
Active Florida RN license or compact RN license meeting Florida eligibility requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required from an accredited school
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required within 90 days of hire
Minimum of 3 years of acute care Behavioral Health nursing experience required
Minimum of 3 years of recent full-time leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or Nurse Manager level) in an acute care hospital setting
