Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and student-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our school team at Ocean Avenue LEARNing Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference each day by supporting students health, independence, dignity, and full participation in school life. The nurse will support students with complex medical and developmental needs in a school setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the LPN will provide direct daily care, assist with treatments, and help ensure the overall health and safety of students throughout the school day.

Day to Day
- Provide direct nursing care to students under the supervision and direction of the schools RN.
- Administer prescribed medications, tube feedings, and treatments as outlined in individualized health care plans (IHCPs).
- Monitor student health status and promptly report changes to the supervising RN.
- Respond to health emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
- Assist with maintaining health records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Support students with activities of daily living (ADLs) as required.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and the supervising RN to promote student well-being.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in CT.
- Pediatric, school, or special needs nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to follow nursing care plans and communicate effectively with the supervising RN.
- CPR (required; training provided if needed).
- Compassion, patience, and a team-oriented mindset.
