Primary Purpose: Develops, implements, coordinates, and supervises the district's health services programs, and programs that support the philosophy and objectives established by Board policies. Qualifications: Education/Certification/License: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred, and three years' experience in nursing required. Valid Texas Registered Nurse license

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Serves as Health Services Administrator for Summer Enrollment.
Orientates nurses and clinic aides at Summer School.
Abides by Immunization compliance, obtains required information and physician permits. Abides by AED compliance and teaches CPR and AED training to meet compliance.
Provides accountability for nurses to ensure that all campuses have adequate clinic coverage.
Assist nurses with mandatory screening schedules for vision, hearing, and spinal.
Serves as clinic relocation site nurse during crisis or campus relocation.
Provides orientation for new nurses and clinic aides.
Assists with tracking absences for nurses to ensure coverage for clinic with trained personnel.
Assists with policy/procedure formulation relating to medical issues.
Conferences with parents to resolve conflicts related to Health Services.
Ensures compliance with Nurse Practice Act Rules & Regulations concerning delegation requirements, clinic procedures, and documentation. Assists with immunization clinics.
Attend ARD/504 meetings for students as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assist with clinic audits to ensure the recommended standards of care.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists principal in supervising and evaluating campus registered nurses. Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities may include interviewing prospective nurses.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard medical clinical equipment including automated external defibrillator (AED); special needs adaptive equipment; standard office equipment including computer peripherals. Posture/Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and to stand and walk. The employee is required to regularly lift and carry (less than 15 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders. Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over). Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Occasional district-wide travel to multiple campuses, as assigned. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Moderate Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress.
