Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide compassionate, high-quality care to women and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care while collaborating closely with physicians, patients, families, and the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide safe and effective care in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and communicate significant changes promptly.
Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and patient outcomes.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
Delegate and supervise appropriate patient-care activities.
Identify variances from patient goals and participate in developing solutions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient-safety requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of Michigan required
BSN required
Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery / L&D nursing experience
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Ability to work night shifts and a 3 × 12-hour schedule

Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Graduation from an accredited nursing program

Certifications & Licensure
Required: Active Michigan RN License
BLS
ACLS
