Job Details

Position: Nursing Faculty (Instructor / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor, commensurate with experience)

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth area, TX (on-campus)

Preferred Specialty: Acute care, pediatrics, women's health/maternal, ICU, emergency, psych/behavioral, med/surg. Experience in maternal, women's health, or pediatric nursing is preferred.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some weekends for clinical instructors
  • 32 hours on ground and 8 remote hours per week
  • 8-hour and 12-hour clinical shifts. Candidates must be flexible with no exceptions.

Overview: This faculty member will teach primarily in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and may cross prelicensure nursing programs depending on educational level. The role covers didactic, lab, and clinical courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in classroom and clinical settings
  • Meet institutional standards for course syllabi, classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management
  • Function as part of the School of Nursing faculty group, including meetings, projects, recruiting, and committee work
  • Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies that engage students in the profession of nursing
  • Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising
  • Maintain currency in education and nursing knowledge through continuing education
  • Contribute to School of Nursing and institutional evaluation processes to measure outcomes

Must Have:

  • MSN degree (a master's or doctorate in nursing is preferred)
  • Unrestricted Texas RN license, or an unrestricted license in an eNLC compact state
  • 2+ years of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse

Preferred:

  • Formal education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
  • A BSN may be considered for LPN programming with significant clinical background or prior teaching experience

Interview Process:

  • Virtual call with the Academic Dean via Teams
  • In-person meeting with hiring managers, including a 10-minute teaching demo and a campus tour
