Description

Job Title: Nuclear Supplier Quality Manager
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team responsible for supplier approval, qualification, surveillance, nonconformance management, and supplier performance.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing supplier quality organization.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership to suppliers to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and applicable nuclear regulations.
  • Develop supplier inspection, verification, qualification, and testing plans.
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics and lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and defect reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze supplier performance data to identify risks and implement preventive actions.
  • Own supplier quality performance by improving process capability, compliance, and overall supplier effectiveness.
  • Partner with Engineering and Purchasing to develop and execute supplier quality strategies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial, and Quality teams to mitigate quality and delivery risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality procedures, plans, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and mentor Supplier Quality Engineers and future quality leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, nuclear operations, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years working within a Quality Assurance program in a regulated industry.
  • Nuclear Lead Quality Auditor (NLQA) certification required.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Engineering degree or Master's degree in Engineering or Business (preferred).
  • Previous people management experience (preferred).
  • Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies (preferred).
  • Experience supporting a nuclear Quality Assurance program in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier quality, and quality management systems (preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience within a cross-functional, matrix organization (preferred).
  • International supplier and procurement experience (preferred).
  • Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments (preferred).

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success using KPIs and continuous improvement tools to improve supplier performance and quality.
