Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Houston Medical Center

Pay Rate: Starting at $69.00/hour 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a nationally recognized, patient-centered healthcare system in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced imaging professional to perform advanced nuclear medicine procedures in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment while delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures as ordered by licensed providers for diagnostic interpretation.

     

  • Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and facility policies.

     

  • Verify patient identity, medical history, pregnancy status, and informed consent prior to procedures.

     

  • Assess patients for contraindications, medication interactions, and other factors that could impact imaging quality or patient safety.

     

  • Ensure accurate patient positioning, imaging protocols, and radiation safety practices to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

     

  • Monitor patients throughout procedures, providing compassionate, age-appropriate care and responding to their needs.

     

  • Maintain equipment quality control, troubleshoot imaging equipment when necessary, and ensure proper operation of PACS/RIS systems.

     

  • Maintain exam room inventory and supplies to support efficient workflow.

     

  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.

     

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology program.

     

  • Current Texas Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) license required.

     

  • Current CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification required.

     

  • Minimum 3 years of radiology experience in one or more imaging modalities.

     

  • Experience with IV insertion and quality control procedures preferred.

     

  • Pediatric imaging experience is a plus but not required.

     

  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and radiation safety.

     

  • Current BLS certification required.

     

  • Excellent communication, patient care, and interpersonal skills.
