Role snapshot

• Location: Onsite in Bridgman, MI
• Engagement: Long-term, full-time contract
• Reporting: You will report to a client supervisor

A day in this role

Morning begins with active RFQs—drafted and issued with sound judgment and, when needed, guidance from a Sr. Buyer. You’ll compare proposals, weigh total value, and negotiate fair commercial terms. Midday may bring a supplier call to resolve a delivery discrepancy or a change order, followed by drafting and awarding purchase orders.

In the afternoon, you’ll collaborate with suppliers, the client’s Legal team, and internal partners to align terms and specifications. You’ll support outage schedules and be ready to assist emergency service restoration when directed by your Supervisor. You’ll also help standardize materials, apply blanket orders to streamline projects and facilities, and provide supplier performance feedback to your Supervisor. Throughout, you’ll deepen your working knowledge of the client’s Strategic Sourcing Process.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Procuring intermediate-level project and transactional materials/equipment in accordance with procurement guidelines
• Issuing requests for quotations (RFQs) with mentorship from a Sr. Buyer
• Analyzing bids, negotiating at an intermediate level, and awarding purchase orders
• Resolving discrepancies, commercial issues, change orders, and cancellations related to POs
• Coordinating with suppliers, the client’s Legal team, and department partners on T&Cs and specifications
• Leveraging blanket orders to support strategic agreements for projects and facilities
• Participating in supplier performance reviews and providing feedback to your Supervisor
• Driving internal material standardization initiatives
• Supporting facility outage and schedule requirements; assisting emergency service restoration as directed
• Partnering with suppliers and expediters to resolve PO and delivery issues
• Building foundational knowledge of the client’s Strategic Sourcing Process

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field
• OR 2+ years’ relevant experience (buying, contracting, supply chain logistics, inventory management, or business administration); nuclear industry experience preferred
• 2+ years’ experience purchasing across varied products or departments
• Local to Bridgman, MI or surrounding area
• Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $30/hour to $40/hour.
