Nuclear Medicine Technician
Location: Nampa, Idaho

Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (5 Days × 8 Hours)

The Nuclear Medicine Technician performs diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures by preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating specialized imaging equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards. This role collaborates with physicians and the imaging team to deliver safe, accurate, and timely patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Operate nuclear medicine imaging cameras and equipment.
Prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
Position patients accurately for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Select appropriate anatomical and technical imaging factors.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Ensure prompt submission of images and documentation to PACS.
Verify image quality, patient information, and lead markers.
Follow radiation safety policies and regulatory guidelines.
Monitor equipment performance and functionality.
Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
Lock/tag out malfunctioning equipment when necessary.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging department.
Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare staff.
Provide compassionate patient care throughout imaging procedures.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technician experience.
Experience operating Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment.
Experience preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals.
Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
Experience producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Experience using PACS for image submission.
Excellent patient care and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced imaging environment.
Preferred Qualifications
ARRT (N) Certification.
NMTCB Certification.
State Nuclear Medicine License (if required).
BLS Certification.
Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine experience.
PET/CT experience.
SPECT/CT experience.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
