3.Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station, Shippingport, Pennsylvania
12 Months - Contract
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
EIT certification is preferred.
PE registration will be considered when determining level and external title.
Engineer II:
Minimum two years of professional I&C design engineering experience.
Performs defined assignments under technical direction.
Prepares assigned portions of calculations, evaluations, drawings, specifications, and design packages.
Engineer III with PE:
Minimum four years of professional I&C design engineering experience.
Engineer III without PE:
Six to ten years of professional I&C design engineering experience.
Engineer III Expectations:
Develop complete calculations, evaluations, and design documents with reduced oversight.
Independently manages assigned engineering work.
May lead appropriately sized assignments.
Final level will be based on education, licensure, direct I&C design experience, technical responsibility, independence, and ownership of engineering deliverables. Zachry Nuclear Engineering will determine the final level and external title following resume review and interview.
Candidates must have professional I&C design engineering experience that includes one or more of the following:
I&C calculations, technical evaluations, drawings, or specifications
Instrument selection, setpoints, scaling, or uncertainty analysis
Control logic, alarms, interlocks, or protective functions
PLC, DCS, digital-control, or plant-computer systems
Design changes, modification packages, or engineering-change packages
Field walkdowns, testing, installation, or implementation support
Experience limited to technician work, maintenance, construction, equipment installation, operations, project management, or commissioning does not qualify unless the candidate also performed professional I&C design engineering.
Commercial nuclear experience is strongly preferred, particularly at an operating nuclear power plant.
Preferred experience includes plant modifications, engineering changes, Standard Design Process activities, field walkdowns, implementation, or outage support.
Candidates without commercial nuclear experience must have directly transferable design and modification experience in power generation, DOE, chemical, petrochemical, or another regulated industrial facility.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain required nuclear-site access, including unescorted access when applicable.
Must complete required background screening, drug screening, onboarding, training, and site-access activities.
Final access authorization is determined by the applicable nuclear facility.
Some assignments may involve access to information or technology controlled under U.S. export-control laws. Eligibility will be considered when applicable.
