Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a senior Nuclear Engineer - Reactor Physics for an advanced nuclear technology company, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in neutronics, shielding, and criticality safety looking to further their career in advanced reactor design.
Perform neutron and gamma transport calculations for dose rates, heating, material damage, and shielding requirements
Support reactor core design refinement and radiation shielding design
Perform criticality safety calculations for fresh and used fuel
Develop, verify, and validate computational tools; mentor junior engineers and support licensing documentation
Essential Qualifications
7+ years of reactor physics experience (5+ with MS); 12-15 years targeted; strong Monte Carlo skills (Serpent, SCALE, or MCNP)
Experience in reactor design, radiation shielding, or criticality safety; strong programming skills, Python preferred
Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field
Bonus Qualifications
Nuclear software verification and validation experience
HTGR or gas-cooled reactor knowledge
Regulatory licensing documentation experience
