NSBC - Melt Shop Day Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

The Day Supervisor will promote safety as our #1 priority, establish expectations, develop best practices for the area, ensure consistency, assess performance at both the individual and department level, evaluate needs, develop team members, serve as a resource for operating crews, facilitate collaboration throughout the plant, and participate in long term strategic planning for the department. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of five areas within the melt shop (EAF, LMF & Degasser, Casting, Refractory, or Raw Materials) and may be reassigned to a different area in the future.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of leadership experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years of supervisory experience in a Melt Shop
• Four-year degree
• A desire to continue to develop and take on additional responsibility, and relocate within Nucor as opportunities become available.
