Nordic Rental Technician

This role ensures guests are properly equipped for their experience, maintains accuracy in daily inventory control, including scanning and tracking rental equipment, and provides general information about The Summit and the Nordic Trail System. The Summit at Snoqualmie is the Pacific Northwest's premier multi mountain ski resort, located 47 miles east of Seattle at Snoqualmie Pass. The property spans five base areas and 20 chairlifts across Summit West, Summit Central, Summit East, and Alpental within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. A four-season operating model includes a mountain bike park and one of the most accessible ski destinations in North America.

Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Nordic Rental Technician provides friendly, efficient service while fitting and renting Nordic skis, boots, and snowshoes. This role ensures guests are properly equipped for their experience, maintains accuracy in daily inventory control, including scanning and tracking rental equipment, and provides general information about The Summit and the Nordic Trail System. The ideal candidate takes the initiative, completes tasks accurately and efficiently, and approaches every responsibility with a “no job is too small” attitude.

Long Term Thinking 

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on rental equipment as needed. 

• Use basic computer skills for daily inventory management, including scanning equipment in and out. 

Excellence in Execution 

• Provide personalized boot fittings and properly sized skis and snowshoes for guests. 

• Demonstrate correct use and function of bindings to ensure guest understanding and safety. 

• Ensure guest safety through careful attention to detail and proper adjustment of equipment. 

• Work quickly yet safely during peak periods to maintain guest satisfaction. 

• Complete daily opening, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned, and maintain a clean, organized, and visually inviting rental shop. 

• Assist with snow removal around the rental area as needed. 

• Wear a uniform and name tag at all times while on duty. 

Attitude is Everything 

• Encourage a positive, team-oriented atmosphere in the rental shop. 

• Support rental shop goals through teamwork, integrity, and superior service. 

• Maintain flexibility in scheduling; some job sharing may be required. 

Develop Great People 

• Share fitting and binding adjustment tips with new team members. 

Serve First 

• Greet all guests with a friendly, welcoming attitude and provide outstanding customer service. 

• Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and efficiently. 

• Answer questions and provide information about ski and snowshoe equipment, The Summit, and the Nordic Trail System. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Required 

• Must be at least 18 years old. 
• Basic computer skills. 
• Multitasking and guest service skills. 
• Daily inventory management experience. 

Preferred 

• Experience with Nordic skiing or snowshoeing. 
• Previous rental shop or boot fitting experience.

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this positions is:  from $21.57 to $23.00/hr

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k).  An employee must work 900 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
