COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Communications, the Communications Specialist supports and advances the district's internal and external communication efforts by helping to tell Lake Stevens School District's story supporting the strategic goals outlined in the Foundation for Excellence. This position collaborates with schools and departments to develop clear, timely, and engaging communications across multiple platforms, including digital, print, video, and social media. The Communications Specialist contributes to the development and execution of communication strategies, including content development, community engagement initiatives, and promotion of district programs and events. The role also provides back-up support for crisis communication and media relations, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging.
COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST JOB TERMS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a closely related field.
Prefered: Minimum of three (3) years of professional communications experience. Experience in K-12 public education or a public sector organization.
