We're looking for a Security Officer who brings a strong sense of authority, sharp observation skills, and genuine hospitality to everything they do.If you take pride in creating a safe environment while still delivering the warmth and professionalism our guests expect, we'd love to meet you.About the RoleAs our Security Officer, you'll be responsible for the surveillance and protection of our premises, staff, and guests - detecting suspicious activity, preventing theft or vandalism, and responding quickly and calmly to any situation that arises. You'll be a visible, reassuring presence throughout the property, while also supporting guests with everyday needs.What You'll DoPatrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a visible presenceMonitor surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful activityEnsure all security alarms and camera systems are functioning properlyRespond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situationFollow Emergency Protocol as needed, including addressing wrongdoers or trespassers on the propertyRespond to suspicious or unlawful activity by monitoring the situation, alerting appropriate personnel and law enforcement, and following hotel protocol until authorities arriveMaintain and submit daily surveillance logs, documenting suspicious activity or any notable occurrences requiring follow-upAdhere to key control policies and proceduresEnsure all guestroom doors are closed and public access doors are secured throughout your shiftMaintain working knowledge of all hotel functions and servicesEnsure guest needs and requests are addressed in a timely mannerAssist guests with luggage as neededAct as concierge when covering the hotel lobbyPeriodically monitor the pool area for safety and security purposes as neededMaintain a professional, composed tone with guests and fellow Associates, using guest names throughout interactionsAttend all mandatory meetings and hotel functionsComply with all company standards and policies as outlined in the Employee HandbookOther duties as requiredWhat We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or GED; 2 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious hotel security experience preferred, but not requiredStrong observation skills and the ability to inspire respect and authorityFamiliarity with report writingProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situationsValid NY State Security Guard registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain standing for extended periodsAvailability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAt Palette Hotels, we are dedicated to creating and sustaining meaningful hospitality careers for our associates.
