Must live within 30 minutes of Jonesboro Arkansas area*
SUMMARY:
Assist eligible Medicaid members during their rides to and from appointments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform assigned daily transports in a safe and timely manner.
- Complete all paperwork required for transportation services rendered.
- Complete a daily inspection of the assigned vehicle before the start of the day.
- Assist students as they board and leave the bus and manage student behavior as well as report student discipline problems to the appropriate administrator.
- Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on the bus.
- Become familiar with all routes to and from the school campus to be of assistance to the driver.
- Supervise and assist with the use of seat belts, harnesses, or car seats by students.
- Follow emergency procedures and help driver administer first aid, if necessary
- The attendant must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times, as well as neat and clean in appearance per the driver handbook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- The employees must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- All Attendants must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
