About the Position

Our client is seeking a dependable Non-CDL Driver to haul empty bottles and cans from local retail and small businesses throughout Central New York. This local, heavy-touch role involves identifying, tagging, hand-loading, and transporting bags of recyclable materials to a warehouse.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay rate: $22 per hour
• Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday
• Hours per week: 40
• Typical workdays: 10-hour days
• Peak-season schedule: 50–60 hours
• Employment type: Temp-to-perm
• Work setting: On-site

Job Details

• Route type: Local routes throughout Central New York
• Freight: Empty bottles and cans
• Equipment: Non-CDL commercial vehicle and trailer
• Handling: Heavy-touch freight requiring frequent lifting, carrying, loading, and tagging
• Material weight: Bags may weigh up to 50 pounds
• Warehouse unloading is performed by warehouse staff

Key Responsibilities

• Drive local routes safely and professionally.
• Pick up empty bottles and cans from local small businesses and retail stores.
• Identify and tag bags of bottles and cans.
• Carry five to six bags by hand at a time and load them onto the trailer.
• Follow all applicable safety and transportation regulations.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel during unloading.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• 1+ year of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Ability to safely lift and move bags weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
