Job Description:

Highly analytical and operationally focused NOC Observability Specialist responsible for designing, building, and maintaining meaningful operational dashboards across platforms including New Relic, Conviva, Mux, and Orion. This role will partner closely with Executive Leadership, Engineering Managers, Product Owners, SRE teams, and Operations teams to transform telemetry, monitoring, and platform data into actionable operational intelligence. The ideal candidate must understand how to represent ecosystem health, customer experience, platform reliability, incident trends, streaming quality, infrastructure stability, and business-impacting KPIs through clear and operationally relevant dashboards. This is not a passive monitoring role. The expectation is to proactively identify observability gaps, improve operational visibility, and drive data-informed decision making.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain operational dashboards using New Relic, Conviva, Mux, Orion, and other observability and monitoring platforms.
  • Transform telemetry, monitoring, and platform data into actionable operational intelligence.
  • Develop dashboards that effectively represent ecosystem health, customer experience, platform reliability, incident trends, streaming quality, infrastructure stability, and business-impacting KPIs.
  • Partner closely with Executive Leadership, Engineering Managers, Product Owners, SRE teams, and Operations teams.
  • Identify observability gaps and proactively improve operational visibility.
  • Support data-informed operational and technical decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze application, infrastructure, and streaming platform performance.
  • Provide meaningful operational insights based on monitoring and dashboard data.
  • Support NOC operations by improving visibility into incidents, reliability, and customer-impacting events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define relevant operational metrics and KPIs.
  • Continuously improve dashboard effectiveness, monitoring coverage, and observability practices.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT/technical experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with New Relic and/or Datadog.
  • Experience with video monitoring and streaming quality platforms such as Conviva, Mux, Orion, or similar tools.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining operational dashboards.
  • Media domain experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of observability, telemetry, monitoring, platform reliability, and operational intelligence.
  • Experience working with SRE, NOC, Engineering, Product, and Operations teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to proactively identify monitoring and observability gaps and recommend improvements.
