Our client is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join the Network Operations team supporting a large-scale, global network environment. This position will focus on 24/7 network monitoring, operational support, incident response, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination for mission-critical applications and services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in network operations/monitoring.
- Experience using SecureCRT.
- Experience with SolarWinds / Riverbed / Splunk.
- Experience in identifying, triaging, prioritizing, and responding to network incidents and outages.
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking environments.
- Ability to monitor, prioritize, and respond to multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong communication and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed SOPs and operational procedures.
- Understanding of automation, observability, and security principles.
- Ability to participate effectively in a 24/7 operations environment.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- CCNA certification.
- Experience with Ansible and network automation.
- Scripting/programming experience.
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar 24/7 operations environment.
- Experience managing incidents involving multiple vendors and geographically distributed network sites.
- Experience with proactive incident mitigation and rapid-response troubleshooting.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage day-to-day operations of a large-scale global network environment.
- Provide real-time monitoring of network connectivity, performance degradation, system events, and alerts.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostic commands on Cisco network devices.
- Investigate physical-layer and network-layer issues and coordinate appropriate remediation.
- Manage incidents and tickets through resolution, maintaining clear documentation and follow-up.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams, network teams, and external vendors to resolve network issues.
- Escalate high-priority incidents and coordinate rapid-response activities.
- Proactively mitigate network issues to minimize impact to critical sites and applications.
- Monitor network connections across hundreds of global locations and network hubs.
- Support network changes and occasionally implement basic operational changes.
- Maintain and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
- Utilize network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Riverbed, SecureCRT, Splunk, and internal monitoring platforms.
- Perform packet tracing and network analysis as required.
- Utilize basic Ansible and scripting/automation capabilities where applicable.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, team discussions, demos, and presentations.
- Maintain a security-first mindset when performing network operations.
- Adapt to new technologies and continuously improve operational processes.
