Night Shift Safety Coordinator
Job Summary The Night Shift Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all safety activities during overnight operations. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures while promoting a safe and productive work environment. The supervisor serves as the primary safety contact during the night shift and responds to incidents, hazards, and emergency situations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor overnight operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Conduct routine facility inspections and safety audits to identify and address hazards
Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions when necessary
Provide safety guidance, coaching, and training to employees
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and shift documentation
Coordinate emergency response activities and communicate safety concerns to management
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety, supervisory, or leadership role
Minimum of 1 year of industrial safety experience
High School Diploma or GED required; safety certifications are a plus
Working knowledge of OSHA 500 or 510 regulations and workplace safety practices
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems preferred
Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Ability to stand, walk, and perform facility inspections for extended periods
Experience working with steel fabrication and overhead cranes
