Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Grinder to join our manufacturing and fabrication team. The Grinder will be responsible for grinding, finishing, deburring, and preparing metal components to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate handheld and stationary grinders safely and efficiently
- Grind, smooth, deburr, and finish metal parts and welded components
- Remove excess weld material, sharp edges, slag, and surface imperfections
- Inspect parts to ensure proper finish, dimensions, and quality
- Use measuring tools to verify finished parts meet specifications
- Select and replace grinding wheels and abrasives as needed
- Operate other hand and power tools used in metal fabrication
- Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
- Assist other production and fabrication employees as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a grinder, metal finisher, fabricator, or similar manufacturing position preferred
- Experience grinding and finishing steel or other metal products
- Ability to safely operate grinders and power tools
- Ability to identify surface defects and achieve the required finish
- Basic ability to read work instructions, drawings, or specifications
- Ability to use basic measuring tools
- Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE
