Job Description:

A leading national general contractor is seeking a Night Shift Construction Supervisor / Superintendent to support a 3-month long healthcare renovation project at St. Mark"s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. This project includes the renovation of an occupied mammography unit and other invasive healthcare spaces that require strict infection control measures, careful coordination, and minimal disruption to daily hospital operations.

The Night Shift Superintendent will serve as the primary on-site representative during overnight construction activities. This is not a traditional production-focused superintendent position. Instead, the role is centered on overseeing construction activities within an active healthcare environment, ensuring infection control compliance, monitoring MEP and sanitary tie-in work, and maintaining a safe and clean space that is fully operational before patients return each morning. The ideal candidate will have healthcare construction experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining close communication with the daytime project team.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Location: St. Mark"s Hospital Area - Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Schedule: Approximately 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM / 5:00 AM (Monday through Friday)
  • Duration: Anticipated from October through December (2.5-3 months)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overnight construction activities within an occupied hospital environment
  • Ensure all ICRA and infection control containment measures are properly installed, maintained, and documented
  • Monitor sanitary tie-ins and above-ceiling MEP work
  • Coordinate subcontractors performing plumbing, mechanical, and related system modifications
  • Verify dust control, cleanliness, and infection containment throughout active work areas
  • Ensure all spaces are safe, clean, and fully operational before daily hospital operations begin
  • Document project progress, field conditions, and issues requiring follow-up
  • Maintain effective communication and transition procedures with the daytime superintendent and project team
  • Enforce hospital safety standards, construction protocols, and site requirements
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with project expectations

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Healthcare construction experience
  • Experience working within occupied facilities
  • Knowledge of infection control requirements and ICRA procedures
  • Understanding of MEP systems, including plumbing and sanitary tie-ins
  • Ability to enforce safety, cleanliness, and infection prevention standards
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision or support team

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
